Michael Skorulski from Cigel, Slovakia

The composition is nice as well as the colors and contrast. The red is startling. Overall this is a dramatic and pleasing photo.

@Michael Skorulski: Thank you for your appreciation,
Wolfgang

Scarabaeus from Manchester, United Kingdom

I can see where the title comes from. The red cross really stands out from the rest of the photo, very striking.

21 Jan 2008 8:39am

@Scarabaeus: Thanks,
Wolfgang

Illuci from Hurdegaryp, Netherlands

Beautiful, that red cross against the green trees. Death to all evil, in the name of all its victims!

21 Jan 2008 8:42am

@Illuci: You are pretty harsh today, Erik! Maybe we could try to refom evil first? :-)
Wolfgang

Craiger from Vacaville, California, United States

This guy was a good artist! Love the way the red cross stands out! Also like the way you've isolated the sculpture with value!

21 Jan 2008 9:00am

@Craiger: Glad you like this cooperation between Hélène and Gilles,
Wolfgang

chris chisu from Seattle, United States

You managed a good capture here...i just wonder how it would look in B&W?

21 Jan 2008 9:42am

@chris chisu: We'll wait for the artist to answer the question about the B/W, thanks for your remark,
Wolfgang

I have tried it.
The red glow of the cross
was looking better on the green background.

Viewfinder from Bradenton, United States

At the actual statue, is this cross really red? It is almost glowing on my screen, and that suggests some photo processing/saturation work has been going on. I like it; the photo works well -- and as others have noted here, it is dramatic. I'm just curious about the red.

21 Jan 2008 12:48pm

@Viewfinder: To satisfy your curiosity:
- the cross is red
- light glow has been added

It was so tempting ;-)
I thought it was adding sense and drama to the picture.

THX for your comment Viewfinder.

Forouz from ., Germany

Nice combination, I am just marveling why the red color is luminescent, is it somehow from post processing or…?
Anyhow it has a nice HALO surrounding and the three dominant colours make this picture interesting.
