Adoptée à l'automne 1999, la Loi sur le drapeau et les emblèmes
du Québec consacre l'iris versicolore (Iris versicolor Linné)
comme nouvel emblème floral québécois.
Par la variété et l'harmonie des couleurs de sa fleur,
l'iris versicolore illustre parfaitement la diversité culturelle du Québec.
Il souligne par ailleurs l'importance de l'eau et des milieux humides
pour l'équilibre de la nature.

The Act respecting the flag and emblems of Québec,
adopted in the fall of 1999, consecrates the blue-flag
(Iris versicolor Linné) as the new floral emblem of Québec.
The blue-flag is an indigenous spring flower
that grows on over half of Québec’s territory,
from the St. Lawrence Valley to the shores of James Bay.
The heraldic fleur-de-lis on the Québec flag
was long considered the floral emblem of Québec.

wow j'aime beaucoup ton cadrage, la couleur qui ressort est presque de la 3ieme dimenssion. Moi aussi j'en ai mais malheureusement cette année ils ont fannées sans que je puisse les voir, donc a l'an prochain mes photos d'Iris.

@Cathy Jones: Merci Cathy. J’en ai aussi chez-moi mais celle-là est indigène. Je l’ai photographié près du pont de métal sur la piste cyclable au Lac Boivin là où il y a un abri de fibre de verre. Cette variété se retrouve dans les endroits marécageux. Nous sommes bien chanceux. Merci encore !

@Bruno: Merci beaucoup Bruno. Oui, la lumière était exceptionnelle surtout à cause de l’endroit. Sous les arbustres, avec le lac derrière. Ça faisait ressortir la fleur de belle façon. Au plaisir de se croiser sur le terrain.

The fleur-de-lis is a favorite of mine; it is on the flag of my home place in New Orleans. Shared French heritage, mon ami. You in Quebec are doing a better job of keeping it current than are we Louisianians.
