@grouser: Those were the days, yes, just look at my crazy jacket...
The camera is a Canon PowerShot S3 IS, quite decent for travelling and amateur photos, but of course one does not have the same degree of control as with a dslr. Another shot where I used the zoom at maximum is here. All the photos in that particular album were taken with the same camera. I'm interested in the 6th generation of this camera, the SX10 IS, wich has a 20X zoom, roughly equivalent to 560 mm...

Thanks for that info Wolfgang. It's the macro and wide angle end that interests me more. I had a nikon with an 8x zoom that I have passed on to my son and on the big telephoto shots the image was almost always a touch soft. A mis-spent youth not making for rock steady hands and the telephoto showing the slightest twitch. I use an SLR now but am tempted to get something more portable as a second camera.

@grouser: Don't forget that the electronic stabilizers have also come a long way.... As for portability, it's hard to beat!

Coupures de presse sont prècieuses et pleines de souvenirs. Dans l'an de 1974, j'ai déjà travaillé quatre ans avec computeurs comme chacun peut voir en regardent mon profil. Bien, j'aime ta photo et ca me fais plaisir a reconnaître un peu de ta l'histoire. Bonne journée.

A great vintage shot that you have here. I love these vintage shots which reflect the wardrobe of the 1970's. Makes me laugh sometimes knowing that my parents fell victim to that fashion. :-)

@Bertrand Duhamel: C'était l'abbé Normand Bernier, animateur de la pastorale et grand amateur de hockey, gardien de bût chevronné.... Son surnom est "Frère Tock". C'est lui qui a célébré le baptême de notre fille Annie. Merci pour ton commentaire!
