@MaryB: Thanks, very kind of you Mary! It was quite surprising to see the little geranium doing fine after the hailstorm, and the hostas right next to it had huge holes in their leaves! I had sent in this photo to our national TV called "Radio Canada" and they had used it for their weather forcast segment on the main 10 pm newscast.Thanks again,

@Veronelle: Non Veronelle, cette photo a été prise le 16 juin, comme mentionné en dessous de la photo. Ce jour là il y avait des grêlons de 15 mm dans notre région. Les hostas sont plein de trous depuis! Cependant il y a eu de la grêle et une tornade à 100 km à l'ouest d'ici hier, comme tu peut lire ici. Merci pour le commentaire,

I had a hydrangea that managed somehow to make it fairly unscathed through some fist-sized hail (unlike the roof of my house). At the instant of viewing it I had exactly the same thoughts as your photo gives me. How did this plant manage to survive?

Impressionnant ces grelons. Quand j'habitais le sud ouest de la France j'ai eu occasion de voir les degats cause par la grele en ete. Vu la force il vaut mieux ne pas etre dessous...
