@Helma: A colorful duck of wooded swamps and streamsides, the Wood Duck is one of only a few North American ducks that nest in trees.

@Peter Miller: The Wood Duck or Caroline Duck (Aix sponsa) is one of two species of the genus Aix. It owes its name to Carolina, States USA where the first specimens were captured.

These are the most gorgeous ducks; I think they look like they have been carefully painted. This is an exceptional capture of this one bird. He's a very handsome fella.
