Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaIt's a lovely landscape with gentle muted winter colors and textures. Very pleasing. 5 Mar 2008 6:39am @Michael Skorulski: You are right, golf courses make for gentle landscapes, thanks! Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanThe park in winter has a personality of its own! The beauty of the naked trees dressed, most of them, in smoky coats contrasts attractively with the evergreens and the rust veil here and there! The light is so beautiful! And I wonder....how come they did not invent yet "golfing in the snow" (????????) 5 Mar 2008 9:31am @Japanalia: It's hard to find your ball, even if you use an orange one, as they "dive" under the snow! (been there, done that...) Sujit Sudhi from Hyderabad, IndiaThis is so beautiful. Almost like a dream. So inviting and serene. 5 Mar 2008 10:51am @Sujit Sudhi: I think you are right, serene is the best qualifier here! @Teresa Durães: Obrigado Teresa! @Craiger: And I love your tree today! medam961 from Sarajevo, Bosnia and HerzegovinaWhat a wonderful landscape; the gentle light and colours, the whole composition! 5 Mar 2008 12:49pm @medam961: Yes, Gilles M. composed it wonderfully, thanks! Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesI like the field of trees on white snow; if this were not a scene from Canada, I'd say this has a real feel of "Americana" to it. So instead, maybe I'll say it has caught the wonderful spirit of "Canadiana" (if I can coin a term). 5 Mar 2008 3:02pm @Viewfinder: I hope you are not dissapointed, but "Canadiana" is not a new term... Thanks for your appreciation of Gille M.'s photo, Helma from Tehran, Iranvery nice shot ! beauty colors and good composed , thanks. 5 Mar 2008 3:43pm @Helma: In the name of Gilles M., thanks Helma! @Elisa: You are right, thanks to the modern zoom lenses Gilles M. got this superb composition. Thank you for your comment, @Ana Lúcia: Obrigado muito! @Reza: Merci Reza!
Merci Martin,
gilles d. danthro from Suburbia, United Statesneat landscape. the snow looks so untouched -- perfect place to make snow angels! 5 Mar 2008 8:12pm @danthro: Now would you believe this is a 10 minute walk from City hall downtown? It's a fun spot in winter or summer, and as you say, perfect for snow angels. Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyNice winter´s shot! I think it would be very difficult to find the golf balls, he? 5 Mar 2008 9:04pm @Michael: Ja, selbst farbige Golfbälle verschwinden im Schnee! (Been there, done that...) @Harald: Vielen Dank Harald! Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesI love (and in a sense I am jealous) how you are able to take such great shots of wide open vistas. They definitely add a lot of depth to your compositions. Although for the life of me I still can't find any fairways or greens. ;-) 5 Mar 2008 9:28pm @Steven: I hope you are not going to be more jealous if I tell you that this is almost downtown, a 10 minute walk from City Hall. Between the school on top of the hill and the golf course is a built up area hidden from view by the vegetation. For the fairways and greens we would have to dig a little! :-) Scarabaeus from Manchester, United KingdomA strong feeling of space in this photograph. I nice photo. 5 Mar 2008 10:20pm @Scarabaeus: If there is one thing we have enough of it's space, George! Thanks for your comment, standley from Brou-sur-Chantereine, FranceTrès belle image.
gilles d. Gary from Cochise County, United StatesExcellent light and colors. I love the whole scene. 6 Mar 2008 1:16am @Gary: Thanks Gary, glad you are back!
gilles d. John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesBeautiful shot. Really like the pure white snow and the trees that contrast so well with it. Such a lovely landscape shot. 6 Mar 2008 2:18am Suzanne Labbé from Granby, CanadaGilles, 6 Mar 2008 10:55am Laurent from Lyon, FranceUne belle lumière, un bon cadrage, un beau piqué. 10 Mar 2008 12:15pm Hélène Grenier from CanadaGilles cette photo est géniale ! 17 Mar 2008 3:09am Carolyn from Alta Loma, United StatesI love this landscape. The snow is so pure, the trees look soft and the sky and mountains are heavenly. Only good must come from the building surrounded by such loveliness. Beautiful composition. 27 Mar 2008 5:08am @Carolyn: Thanks for your kindly comment. vu@granby - Gilles Martineau |
