Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaReally super contrast in this excellent composition. Nice POV and super detail. 20 Feb 2008 5:23am @Michael Skorulski: In the name of Gérard-Pierre thank you very much! @Saeed: Very glad you like Gérard-Pierre's photo, @Sandra Rocha: Obrigado muito! Craiger from Vacaville, California, United StatesIt looks like these guys are a little out of their element! Love the shadows and overall composition! 20 Feb 2008 12:32pm @Craiger: They are free to stay inside or go outside, but on sunny winter days they prefer to be outdoors. Thanks for the comment, ManuelaR from Hainburg, GermanySeems so surreal to see them with snow... great perspective! 20 Feb 2008 12:52pm @ManuelaR: You are right, it's not something we think of as natural, but they don't seem to mind. Thanks for your appreciation, medam961 from Sarajevo, Bosnia and HerzegovinaWonderful photo of lovely zebras and great composition and perspective! 20 Feb 2008 1:01pm @medam961: Thank you Medam, Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanThey look great against the white snow!!! The photographer found the right angle and the most photogenic group! I love their pyjamas!!! 20 Feb 2008 1:06pm @Japanalia: Yes, Gérard-Pierre had a nice find, thank you. He was inspired by this common vision.... Elle from Sydney, AustraliaCuties! :) You know how in fairy tales the characters come in 3s most of the time? Goldilocks and the three bears and I can't remember now but yes. Love how you got the 2 zebras looking at the same direction and the third at another direction. And they go well with snow. Great shot! 20 Feb 2008 1:22pm @Elle: You are right! Thanks for your comment, Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesIf I were a zebra, what would I think of snow? Great photo of contrasts. 20 Feb 2008 2:19pm @Viewfinder: They do seem strange in the snow, but they don't seem to mind! Thank you for the compliment, adlibitumphotos from Lyon, FrancePhoto et contraste magnifique, bravo. Pascal Photograph and splendid contrast, bravo. Pascal 20 Feb 2008 2:24pm @adlibitumphotos: Merci pour votre visite et votre commentaire, @Levine: They do seem to be friends! :-) Thank you, Ina from Krugersdorp, South AfricaBit unusual for me since I am use to them in the wild here in Africa - nevertheless, they form a great contrast against the snow and it is an excellent shot! 20 Feb 2008 2:36pm @Ina: I won't even try to tell you they are special zebras indigenous to our area, they are not! But they seem to get adjusted quite well! Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesAs Ina says above, they provide a great contrast to the background snow. It brings to mind not too long ago seeing a public television documentary on a mutation where the stripes are white. There's also some character in the two zebras who happen to be looking in the same direction on the left. Beautiful markings! 20 Feb 2008 3:48pm @Steven: Thanks for the interesting informationand for your comment, Teresa Durães from Montijo, Portugale são brancas de riscas pretas ou pretas de riscas brancas? bela photo 20 Feb 2008 4:16pm @Teresa Durães: São zebrados brancos e morenos... :-) Scarabaeus from Manchester, United KingdomI'm back from my travels, great shot with the matching strong black and white colours. 20 Feb 2008 5:01pm @Scarabaeus: Thanks, glad you like Gérard-Pierre's photo, and hope you brought back some great shots from your trip. Harald from Frankfurt am Main, GermanyEin toller Kontrast. Zebras auf Schnee sieht man auch nicht alle Tage. 20 Feb 2008 6:36pm @Harald: Ja, was es in Granby so alles gibt! :-) Vielen Dank, standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceC'est si étonnant de voir des zèbres dans la neige! Belle prise de vue 20 Feb 2008 7:34pm @standley: Oui, c'est étonnant! Merci pour le compliment, Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyLike this shot! It looks very impressive with the snow in the background. Don´t they have jumpers for the cold nights? ;-) 20 Feb 2008 8:49pm vu@granby from Granby, Québec, CanadaSuperbe Gérard-Pierre! vu@granby - Gilles Martineau 20 Feb 2008 8:55pm martie from Okinawa, JapanBelle photo ! Your effort in French is appreciated! @«miguel.peixeiro»: Sim, em Granby nós temos muitas coisas interessantes! :-) MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomNow this is a sight you don't see every day! A brilliant image. 20 Feb 2008 10:18pm @MaryB: Ah, Granby is more exotic than it appears at first sight! Thanks for your comment, Daroru from Amagasaki, JapanGreat job. I can imagine them discussing... "Where are we going to hide now?" 20 Feb 2008 11:41pm @Daroru: It's not easy to hide in a field of snow when you are a zebra! :-) Thanks for the comment, @farmermarn: Thanks for your first comment on our blog, glad you like Gérard-Pierre's photo, Tracey from White Hall, United StatesFantastic! I know this is stupid, but I never knew zebras could live where it snowed!! LOVE IT! 21 Feb 2008 1:20am @Tracey: They live in our zoo and have a large area where they can go as they please, but of course at night they prefer lo be inside. Thanks for your first comment on our blog, Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThey look great against the snow but they are probably wondering how to get back to Africa. 21 Feb 2008 1:58am @Michael Rawluk: I think these guys have never seen Africa, they were born and raised in North America. Thanks for your comment, Ras from Plano, United StatesI didn't know that it snowed in Africa. Good shot though. 21 Feb 2008 3:12am @Ras: It actually snows in some spots of Africa, and not only on old man Kilimanjaro, for example in the Draakensberg in South Africa and the Atlas in North Africa. This photo is of course from the zoo in Granby, as our blog shows only photos of our hometown. Thanks for your comment. @Elisa: THX for your visit! gilles d.
