Le 10 juin 2007,
simultanément dans trois villes de la Montérégie,
(Granby, St-Bruno et St-Jean-sur-Richelieu)
s’est tenu le Défi têtes rasées de la Montérégie.
Entre 10 h et 16 h,
plus de 987 personnes se sont fait raser la tête,
permettant de récolter
un montant impressionnant de 542 000 $.
Tout l’argent amassé ira en appui
aux enfants atteints de cancer et à leurs familles.

@Rags: Thanks for your comment. The event is a province-wide head-shaving to collect money to support cancer victims, especially kids. to find out more you can click on the link just under the French comment, it says "English version".

cette photo est très touchante.
Elle décrit très bien cette activité de levée de fonds
et toutes les émotions que les participants doivent ressentir
lorsque le défi est relevé.

@Amir: The shaving is done mostly by professional hairdressers and apprentices, also some celebrities. It's a big organization with many hundreds of heads being shaved, but the amount of money collected is very impressive. And you are right, the picture is cool and funny...

Magnificent action showing solidarity and also very courageous! It will support the people suffering from it and shows that it can happen to everybody. Everybody knows somebody to whom it occurred.
