Such a nice capture; I really like the sunset's colors as they reflect off the street surface in the distance. 3 Oct 2007 8:56pm Anne from White Rock, CanadaWonderful shot of this Granby street illuminated by a colorful setting sun! Congratulations Jean-Guy Archambault! PS. How can our blogs compete with 31 talented photographers on one blog?! 4 Oct 2007 1:20am @Anne: Thank you for your visit and your comment Anne! How can our blogs compete... Stunner from Kingston, JamaicaI just love the tones in this shot! This is a fabulous photo! 4 Oct 2007 4:43am Illuci from NetherlandsAnne, blogs don't need to compete, just to enjoy, that's how I see it and that's also why I don't participate in picture- or blog ratings (sometimes I think it's just a make-up reason, you're simply not good enough, but I immediately wipe that idea out of my mind :)). Dear Jean-Guy, in Europe we often see pictures of Canada, but that's always its stunning nature, it's also good to see something of the regular living environment, I don't see big differences with a regular European city. In the pictures of Granby I taste something Southern, like with us in Belgium and France: in Anglo-saxon and Dutch cities there's more order, you can see that all buildings and changes at buildings and signs have to be approved by a municipal committee and designed at least two or three times over before it's found OK and you get your permit. In the Netherland it's very exaggerated, also with road maintenance: almost half of the road- and highway top layers are new and I'm sure it's only to keep employment high, to maintain the traffic jams and to spend taxes. I hate it :(. Non, j'aime la manière du Sud, comme l'impression que Granby fait à moi :) 4 Oct 2007 7:31pm @Illuci: ... blogs don't need to compete... Je suis bien d'accord. Avec les années, on apprend surtout l'humilité ! Illuci from NetherlandsBTW I forgot to assess the picture: I find it very smart and skilfull to capture both the setting sun and maintain the details of the street without too dark shadows, and even the burning street lights visible! A magnificent picture! 4 Oct 2007 7:49pm sithenah from Greater Manchester/Cheshire, United Kingdomeveryone's more or less said - the lighting, the tone, the whole perspective just make this a lovely composition. 7 Oct 2007 8:02pm marcel lemieux from bedford,qc, Canadaune des plus belle (main) du Québec....et l,ancienne route principal avant la construction de l,autoroute 10......très belle prise...belle angle et avec ce soleil c,est super 15 Oct 2007 11:10am Marie LaFauci from Boca Raton, United StatesPerfect time of day for this capture.
